Full Editorial Writeup
This is a two-part business: a 50-year-old sign contractor that manufactures, installs, and repairs signage, bundled with a billboard advertising portfolio. The sign operation runs on commercial contracts and a base of recurring customers, which gives it a cushion of repeat business beyond one-off fabrication jobs. The billboard side spans 22 faces owned or leased plus agency contracts for another 39 faces, generating ad revenue described as near-passive with minimal overhead.
The billboard component is the more interesting asset. Outdoor advertising faces are scarce and permit-constrained, so owned structures in good locations carry durable value and pricing power that a sign fabrication shop alone does not. The listing claims no competitors in the local market, which for a legacy sign contractor usually reflects entrenched municipal relationships, permitting know-how, and the capital intensity of carrying billboard inventory.
At $8M against $2.43M revenue and $1.01M cash flow, the deal prices at roughly 7.9x cash flow, which is rich for a contracting business but more defensible if a meaningful share of that cash flow comes from the billboard faces, which comp closer to media or real estate yields than to sign fabrication. The property is available separately to the right buyer, and seller financing is on the table.
