Full Editorial Writeup
This is a producing secondary-recovery waterflood oil and gas unit near Jarvisville in Harrison County, West Virginia, established in 1995 and currently producing roughly 40 barrels of oil per day plus 150 mcf of gas per day. The unit is fully permitted and operating, with injection and production infrastructure already in place: wells, tank battery, injection plant, flowlines, and pumping units. The sale assigns the shallow leasehold rights within the unit while explicitly excluding deep rights including the Marcellus, which is a meaningful carve-out given the value of deep Appalachian shale.
The asset sits on 8,000 acres held by production with another 3,000 acres available for new shallow wells, giving a buyer both current cash flow and organic development runway. Management flags upside to 100 bbl/day on the existing unit, plus an optional bolt-on of roughly 250 additional wells in and around Harrison County that would add approximately 11,000 bbl/year and 850 mcf/day. The seller is exiting to focus on other operations rather than retiring.
Stated EBITDA is $500,000, with no asking price or revenue disclosed. This is not a turnkey business for a passive buyer; it is an operating asset best suited to an existing Appalachian operator with its own field crews, or a buyer with lease operating expertise who can run the production economics and manage regulatory compliance on aging shallow wells.
